Prometheus is the mythical Greek Titan whose name is means 'fore-thought', one whose creativity arises spontaneously. Prometheus famously stole the gods' secret of fire from Mount Olympus and gave it to humankind. He received an eternal sentence from Zeus to be chained to a rock in the Caucasus, where his liver is eaten daily by an eagle. In an sense, the source of his creativity is the opposite of his brother Epimetheus.
